Our Food Bank - ACCESS
Updated: 2 days ago
ACCESS is Jackson County’s Community Action Agency and Regional Food Bank serving close to 40,000 people annually. The ACCESS Food Bank distributes 4.5 million pounds of food to more than 24,000 people every year through its network of 30 food pantries. After operating well beyond the capacity in the old warehouse for years, ACCESS moved its food bank into a new warehouse in FY24. The new warehouse doubled our storage capacity to 9,800 sq ft for dry storage, 1,000 sq ft of cooler space, and 1,000 sq ft of freezer space. With the expanded capacity, ACCESS is better positioned to meet the growing needs of the community.
The new warehouse also allowed us to have a dedicated space for our Rogue Powerpack Program. The Rogue Powerpack Program serves food insecure elementary-age children over the weekend during the school year by providing six meals and six snacks weekly. Last year, 112,524 meals were provided for 621 students. One student shared, “I love my snacky snacks!”.
