Oregon Energy Partnership

The Oregon Energy Partnership provides a voice for Community Action Partnership of Oregon and low-income Oregonians in creating policies to ensure clean, reliable and affordable energy. Our goal is to assist CAPO in building a statewide network of informed individuals to carry out the mission of CAPO to educate on issues of poverty, serving as a catalyst for change.

With the constant threat of cuts to social service programs, the rising costs of housing and the recent utility rate increases, low-income Oregonians are more at risk than ever. In this climate of uncertainty, it is important to work with a broad base of groups to gather information and educate others about the needs and challenges of low-income citizens.

Through education and communication, Oregon Energy Partnership works to create and maintain sound energy policies and protections for our most vulnerable citizens. This work is done in partnership with Oregon Housing and Community Services, CAPO members and affiliates, and coalitions such as Oregon Energy Coordinators Association, Fair and Clean Energy Coalition, Northwest Energy Coalition, League of Utilities and Social Service Agencies, Oregon HEAT and the Citizen's Utility Board.

Oregon Energy Partnership also works to enable and encourage low-income individuals to participate in decision-making forums, public hearings, and other meetings concerned with social issues that affect their quality of life. It is important to provide education and opportunities for individuals to take meaningful action.
